When i first heard the words "global village" I thought it was something surrounding technology and our society revolves around technology like cell phones, computers, laptops, internet, cameras, etc. I started out with my collage being 4 different types of people around the world and they were all different except one thing tied them together and that was the technology around them. My collage ended up looking like a reflection of who we are, because I belive that technology reflects who we are and who society is. While doing this collage i tried to answer the question "how does the technology around us reflect us as a society and who we are because of technology". My collage is suposed to represent who we are because of technology and what it means to us. I have a globe right in the center of my collage because I think that "global village" could mean technology making the world go round' and when you really think about it then it is absoulutely true. Today our world lets us connect with just about anyone who has a computer and internet no matter where they live or where they are it is always possible to interact with someone on the other side of the world. Facebook is a great example of that. Facebook allows you to chat and look at other people's personal profiles and also allows you to use social tools to interact with them. Without internet people would go crazy and the developing world would come to a complete halt because people would not be able to handle everyday business task like emailing. Using the term "global village" I tried to create what i thought it meant and as you can see I think it means matierial things like computers and phones controlling us and relecting upon us as to who we are and also to who society really is.- amber blake
